Earth Lessons 🌎

CEFR Pre-A1 to A1 · Beginner · 14 Lessons

Earth is the starting planet in Small Universe. Its 14 beginner lessons cover the first English words every beginner needs, from age 3 to adult, on topics they already know: animals, colours, numbers, family. Every topic is played as a short mini-game, so the first words stick without a pile of flashcards.

About CEFR Pre-A1 to A1

Earth lessons follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages at the Pre-A1 to A1 level. In practice, kids learn to recognise and use basic everyday words and simple phrases. That is the ground every young beginner needs before anything else can be built on it.

Questions about Earth

What is taught on Earth in Small Universe?

Earth has 14 lessons covering animals, colours, numbers, family, body parts, weather, vehicles, alphabet, greetings, basic verbs, pronouns and rhymes. Most lessons can be played in several of the 17 mini-game types, such as matching, memory, bubble pop and odd one out.

What CEFR level is Earth?

Earth maps to CEFR level Pre-A1 to A1. The words and sentence patterns are chosen for that level, and the lessons get harder as you move through the planet.

How many lessons does Earth have?

Earth has 14 lessons, and each one takes a few minutes. Replaying a lesson can land on a different game type, so the same words come back without the same activity.

What ages is Earth suitable for?

Earth suits kids, teens and adult beginners at CEFR Pre-A1 to A1. Younger children get simpler tap-and-match games. Some game types open up with the learner's age, so older learners and adults also get games like word builder and word hunt.

Do I need to finish earlier planets before playing Earth?

No. Earth is the first planet, so its first lesson is open from the start. After that, each lesson you finish opens the next one, and you can replay any lesson that is already open.
