Terms of Service

The short version: The game is free to play. Parents can optionally purchase Stellar Coins to unlock cosmetic spaceship parts. Only adults may make purchases. Coins have no real-world value and are non-refundable once used. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Small Universe ("the Game"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are a parent or guardian using the Game on behalf of a child, you agree on behalf of yourself and your child. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.

2. Description of Service

Small Universe is a web-based educational game that teaches beginner English vocabulary to kids, adult beginners, and families through interactive mini-games across seven planets. The Game is provided as a Progressive Web App (PWA) and can be played in any modern web browser. It includes optional in-app purchases of virtual currency (Stellar Coins) used to unlock cosmetic spaceship parts. Small Universe is operated by CloudForge Ltd, a company registered in Cyprus (registered address: Cavo Greco Avenue, Building 475, 007, Protaras, Paralimni, Cyprus).

3. Free Access

All 102 lessons, 17 game types, and seven planets are available at no cost. An account is not required to play. Stellar Coins are optional and do not gate educational content, they are used solely for cosmetic spaceship customisation.

4. Stellar Coins (Virtual Currency)

Stellar Coins are a virtual in-game currency. They have no real-world monetary value, cannot be transferred between accounts, cannot be exchanged for real money, and cannot be used outside of Small Universe.

Coin dormancy and service closure: If your account remains inactive for 24 consecutive months, we reserve the right to expire unused Stellar Coins after giving 30 days' prior notice by email. In the event that Small Universe ceases to operate, we will provide reasonable advance notice and offer refunds for unspent coins where technically and legally practicable.

Stellar Coins are a digital consumable. Once spent in the game, they cannot be recovered or refunded. Unspent coins may be eligible for a refund, see our Refund Policy.

5. Purchases and Billing

All purchases are processed securely by our payment processor. By completing a purchase, you authorise the charge to your chosen payment method. You will receive a confirmation email to the address on your account.

6. EU/EEA Consumers, Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal from digital content purchases under the EU Consumer Rights Directive and the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations.

Waiver of withdrawal right: By completing a Stellar Coin purchase and clicking "Confirm Purchase", you expressly request that delivery of the digital content begins immediately and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the coins have been credited to your account. You will receive written confirmation of this waiver with your purchase confirmation email.

This waiver only applies to coins that have been delivered. If coins were not delivered due to a technical error, your withdrawal right and refund rights remain intact.

7. Age Requirements and Parental Responsibility

Small Universe can be used by children and adult learners. Children must use the Game under the supervision of a parent or guardian. Purchases may only be made by adults aged 18 or over.

Parents are responsible for supervising their child's use of the Game and for any purchases made using their account. Adult learners are responsible for their own account use. If you believe a purchase was made without your authorisation, contact us immediately.

8. Accounts

Creating an account is optional. If you create one, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and update it if it changes. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Intellectual Property

All content in Small Universe, including game mechanics, artwork, animations, audio, text, and overall design, is the intellectual property of Small Universe and is protected by copyright law. You may not:

You agree to use Small Universe only for its intended purpose: educational gameplay. You may not attempt to interfere with the Game's operation, exploit bugs, manipulate coin balances through unauthorised means, or use automated tools to interact with the Game.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Small Universe is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the Game will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet specific educational outcomes.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CloudForge Ltd (operating as Small Universe) and its officers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Game, including loss of virtual items or coins resulting from technical issues outside our control. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Changes to the Game

We may update, modify, or discontinue any part of Small Universe at any time, including the Stellar Coins system, available items, and pricing. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain access to purchased items, but cannot guarantee it across all future updates.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. For material changes affecting purchases, we will notify account holders by email. Continued use of the Game after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights in your country of residence, any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Game will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you also retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you are resident.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund and Cancellation Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CloudForge Ltd (operating as Small Universe) regarding your use of the Game and supersede all prior agreements, representations, or understandings.
