About CEFR A1
Mars lessons match CEFR A1 (Elementary). At this level, kids understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases. They can introduce themselves, ask simple questions and hold a simple exchange, all of it built on what they learned on Earth.

What is taught on Mars in Small Universe?
Mars has 15 lessons covering emotions, clothes, shapes, home and rooms, school supplies, food, sports, prepositions, question words, jobs, nature, music, time, connectors and health. Most lessons can be played in several of the 17 mini-game types, such as matching, memory, bubble pop and odd one out.
What CEFR level is Mars?
Mars maps to CEFR level A1. The words and sentence patterns are chosen for that level, and the lessons get harder as you move through the planet.
How many lessons does Mars have?
Mars has 15 lessons, and each one takes a few minutes. Replaying a lesson can land on a different game type, so the same words come back without the same activity.
What ages is Mars suitable for?
Mars suits kids, teens and adult beginners at CEFR A1. Younger children get simpler tap-and-match games. Some game types open up with the learner's age, so older learners and adults also get games like dictation and conversation.
Do I need to finish earlier planets before playing Mars?
Yes. Lessons open one at a time, in planet order from Earth to Pluto: each lesson you finish opens the next one, so the first Mars lesson opens once you finish the last lesson on Earth. You can replay any lesson that is already open.
